Feline friends can feast on our treats too!

It is easy to assume that with a name like "The Doggie Bakery", we don't cater for cats but we have lots of treats that they can enjoy.

It's fascinating that many cats are often forgotten when it comes to treats, but we have quite a few regulars that purchase our products ONLY for their cats! Now, did you know that you can train a cat in the same manner as a dog using treats as rewards? Though, let's be honest, a cat owner would need to have A LOT of extra patience trying to convince this self appointed royal heir to do what you want! When I first saw a cat sit and shake I was in absolute awe. I didn't even know you could train a cat! My patient had multiple cats and taught them all little tricks, it was just really cute to watch.

So as we all know, cats are obligate carnivores so our meaty and fishy treats are perfect for them, and although they may try and have a taste, there is no need to share our homemade bikkies with them. Not only may they be too big but some cats are quite fussy with their food and they are less likely to be impressed with the treat.

Our 100% Chicken Breast jerky

This is definitely a favourite with cats, and dogs, alike. It is our best seller and our dehydrators are on almost all day and night drying our hand cut chicken.

Tiger Lilly loves our homemade Chicken jerky

Chicken Breast makes for a wonderful treat because it is very lean, especially important for cats who might be prone to put on weight, made worse if they don't move enough. It also is high in protein and a good source of vitamin B, vitamin D, calcium, iron and zinc.

New Zealand Green Lipped Mussels

Riley enjoys the fishy flavour of Green Lipped Mussels

New Zealand Green Lipped Mussels are great for cats, especially those that are older and needing some nutrients to assist joint health. They are backed with anti-inflammatories that help support arthritic joints to decrease pain and inflammation.

Sardines

Many cats may eat sardines in their cat food, but you can also offer your cat a dehydrated sardine as a treat. As with all our treats, there are no preservatives, additives or fillers, in this case, just a heap of fishy goodness.

Mmmmmmm....fishy. Kristoff enjoying his sardine treat.

In addition to these treats, cats can also enjoy our 100% Kangaroo and 100% Lamb Liver. Lamb liver is a fatty piece of offal so again, not suitable for overweight kitties or those prone to putting on weight!

If you've purchased treats for your cat and/or dog, please don't forget to tag us in any photos or send them to us via email. We love seeing our pupstomers, and purr-stomers enjoying our healthy, wholesome, homemade treats!

As always, please give you furbaby a cuddle from Aunty K and Aunty D.
