Our Ingredients and Why

It’s important that you know what goes into your pets food! Here we outline our ingredients and all their benefits.

Wholemeal flour

Wholemeal flour uses the entire grain and all the nutrients with it.

Coconut flour and Chickpea flour

These are used as grain free flours for those pups that are sensitive skin and tummies.

Buckwheat flour

A gluten-free and non-allergenic option that assists in heart health, contains anti-oxidants, improves digestion and can help prevent diabetes.

Free range eggs

Eggs are a great source of protein, vitamins A (good for eye health) and B12, folate, iron and riboflavin. We choose to only purchase free range eggs because they come from free range chickens that are healthier and happier than those that are caged.

Chicken liver

High in protein, high in fat and high in vitamin A. Being high in fat it is useful for young, growing or underweight dogs.

Good sources of protein, carbohydrates, B vitamins and low in fat.

High in Omega-3's assist in healthy coats, support their immune system and decrease joint inflammation and stiffness, particularly important in older dogs.

High in fibre and assist in regular digestive function. Also has high amounts of antioxidants to prevent some cancers and strengthens the immune system. It is high in beta carotene and so needs to be limited to 1 teaspoon in small dogs and 1 tablespoon in large dogs, per meal. It can also help in weight loss by assisting the pup to feel full due to the high fibre and water content.

Peanut butter

Our dogs just LOVE peanut butter! Sometimes we put it in a Kong and they spend so much time licking the Kong clean! Why do so many dogs like peanut butter? Articles have documented it may be the fat, salt or sugars in it. Peanut butter is a good source of protein and is high in fibre. When we bake with peanut butter we ensure it is either homemade using real peanuts, or if that is not available, we would use a brand that has low salt and sugar, no hydrogenated oils and definitely no XYLITOL which can make our puppies unwell.

Wholegrain Oats

Oats are a great wonder food. They are low in fat, a great source of insoluble fibre and keep blood sugar levels steady. They are known to aid in weight loss, kidney disease, diabetes, cholesterol, heart disease, decrease the risk of some cancers and increase the immune system.

Homemade chicken stock

Our dogs love to drink it on it's own and is great when given frozen on a hot day. They just love the flavour. We make our own chicken stock to ensure there is absolutely NO salt.

Coconut flour

Coconut contains the fatty acid lauric acid which boosts the immune system, improves digestion and thyroid function and contributes to a healthy and shiny coat. It also has protein, iron and is low carb.

Organic coconut oil

We have found that other coconut oils that aren't organic have additives and quite simply we don't want our pups, or yours, to be exposed to those.  It has the same properties as the coconut flour. We love using coconut oil, many dogs absolutely love the taste and it's good for them too.
